How to Get Your Library Card
Anyone who lives in Hiawatha, Marion,Cedar Rapids, Linn County communities with a public library or other Iowa communities with public libraries that participate in Open Access is eligible for a Metro Library Card.
- Bring in a photo I.D. with your current name and address
- Complete an application form.
- Or complete the on-line application, receive a temporary card number, then come into the library to receive your permanent card.
It's that easy!
If you don't have a current photo I.D. we will give you a 30-day temporary card; you'll just be limited to checking out 6 items. Within that 30 days, bring in proof of address and we will change your card to permanent status.
Library applications for children under the age of 16 must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Both child and guardian must be present.
