Our Quest

To offer the opportunity to every person to Converse about books in Cordial, Literate and Intelligent discussions. To strive to Create and Support a community of Readers in which every person's opinion is Welcome and Valued, and through which we can get  to know and enjoy one another as we experience the Joy of Learning and the Exchange of Ideas through many different reading opportunities and genre.

In other words, let's pick a book that we all read, then get together and talk about it! And, to accommodate today's busy lifestyles: you have a choice! The Hiawatha Public Library has three book clubs that meet in the evenings and one that meets during the day. You pick the one (or all!) that fit your schedule. No registration is needed.  Just come and surprise us!

Online Book Club

Patrons can sign up on the Hiawatha Public Library DearReader.com website for an Online Book Club.  Every day, Monday through Friday, you will receive in your email a five-minute selection from a chapter of a book.  By the end of the week, you'll have read two to three chapters.  A wide variety of books are available, as well as young adult books and audio books.  It's free to sign up and you can cancel at any time.
